East Caucasus, c. 180 x 123 cm, 19th century. Throne-like motifs crowned by powerful ram’s horns are characteristic of this group. In between are rectangular fields suggesting a mihrab. Both ends show figural motifs with heavily accentuated pairs of eyes. With several traces of usage, corroded brown and original light-coloured cotton, in good condition. (VP)
