porcelain, painted in the style of the new objectivity, the sitting pelican resting its head on its back, in its scissor-shaped beak holding a fish, half of it including the tail fin is still visible, height 75 cm, length 77 cm, depth 44 cm, the reverse side with underglaze blue crossed swords mark, model by Johann Joachim Kändler from October 1732 (Ru)

Johann Joachim Kändler created the pelican with carp as part of his commission for the ‘Holländisches (Japanisches) Palais’.
