“- I brought these woods from Sardinia, Roberto Crippa tells me, pointing with a hand smeared with glue and wax at his latest paintings, large ‘collages’ made of charred wood that fill his studio. […] For more than ten years now, Crippa has only been invited and contracted by foreign galleries: he is the typical modern painter, who no longer stops at canvases and brushes.
- Life used to be sweet! Painters led a quiet life at court, they were serene and blissful, no wonder they painted angels! I can well believe it! Were he in my shoes, Piero della Francesca would do the same as me: he would adapt to the times!”
