A "Thebes stool", cf. variant of the "four-legged Egyptian stool", designed by Adolf Loos, executed by F. O. Schmidt, Vienna, c. 1901/02
Models for the four-legged "Thebes stools" were: F. L. Wyburd, executed by Liberty's, London, 1884 until after 1900 and an American variant, c. 1885. Beechwood, later stained to simulate mahogany, with polished finish; four turned legs; insert round staffs; professionally restored; signs of age and use; height 35.5 cm, length 43.5 cm, width 42.8 cm.
