Munich, c. 1760-70, carved wood altar structure with base, the front with altar table with tabernacle, the sides with Saints Benedict of Nursia and Ulrich, in the centre on red velvet a silvered metal relief with a saint kneeling in front of Mary on clouds surmounted by the Trinity, crowned by 3 groups of angels with symbols of the Christian cardinal virtues, decorated with finely carved baroque ornaments, polychrome painted and gilt, c. 33 x 51 cm, in a glazed display case with gilt baroque ornaments, 59 x 23 x 80 cm, restored, (MC)
The two images of saints, which are reminiscent of the works of Ignaz Günther or his workshop on the grounds of a few stylistic features (movement, execution of the folds and heads), suggest an attribution to his workshop. Compare: Peter Volk: Ignaz Günther, Regensburg 1991, e.g. ill. pp. 192, 209, 237;
