2022, modified construction of a green lacquered support of a steel stool from the 1940s by the in-house locksmiths of the former Glanzstoff factory in St. Pölten, seat reworked with textile colour stripes, acrylic paint and epoxy resin, seat size c. 28 x 21 cm, surface c. 35 cm x 35 cm, height c. 40 cm. J. F. Sochurek was born in Krems on the Danube and grew up in Horn in the Waldviertel. 1967: studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna; 1985: St. Pölten Artists' Association; 1990: Member of the Künstlerhaus in Vienna; 1996: Founding member of the artists' group CONTRAPUNKTUM. J. F. Sochurek lives and works in St. Pölten and Ober-Grafendorf. Prizes and awards: 1984: Prize of the Province of Lower Austria; 2003: Prize for Science and Art of the Province of St. Pölten; 2010: Adolf Peschek Audience Award, St. Pölten; 2015: Jakob Prandtauer Prize of St. Pölten; 2018: Gold Decoration of Honour for Services to the Province of Lower Austria
