A “Werkbund exhibition” armchair,
Austria c. 1928/29, sculptural construction made of tubular iron, wood armrest pads, remains of the original yellow paint and orange priming, dimensions: height c. 87 cm, width c. 61 cm, depth c. 52 cm, height of seat c. 38.5 cm. Signs of age and use, scratches and abrasions. (MHA)
Made for the Horticultural Exhibition in Vienna in 1928 and later used in the Werkbund Exhibition in Vienna in 1932 and on the terraces in the Herrenhaus on Herrengasse in Vienna (from 1932 onwards).
