Italy 2023, (concept: Alessandro Curioni), sculpture consisting of 10 parts forming a 3D-printed acrylic sphere, and a wooden base painted with polyurethane varnish. Inside there is a spool with 20m long Luno printing tape with digital printing on TNT secured with magnets. Slight signs of age and use. (MHA)
Born in 1965, Giulio Ceppi studied Visual Design at Scuola Politecnica in Milan and, after graduating in Architecture, he obtained a PhD at Politecnico di Milano, where he has been teaching since 1994. He deals with sensory and material design, new technologies and strategies for innovation. Until 1997, he worked at Domus Academy (a private Milanese design school in Milan). There he founded a Master course in business design. In 1999 he founded Total Tool, a visioning and design strategy company with offices in Milan and Buenos Aires with over 250 projects on 5 continents. He has lectured in over 25 states, written numerous essays on design, and organised several exhibitions. He was nominated several times for the Compasso d‘oro and the Dedalo Minosse Award. Giulio Ceppi lives and works in Milan and on Lake Como.
