A freestanding writing desk with decorative mother-of-pearl inlays, Germany/Austria, c. 1900
oakwood, stained brown; a large drawer under the desk top; right and left also a drawer, with a lockable door underneath; internal file compartments on one side, the other side with a shelf; doors decoratively inlaid with mother-of-pearl; each side with light brown oval alternating decorative elements; brass drawer handles; metal locks; two keys; domed top element with six bevelled clear glass windows; a part is missing from the outer finishing edge on one side at the top; the back with decorative cover; the right and left sides and also the centre with matching mother-of-pearl inlays and light brown oval decorative elements; signs of age and use; restored; height 106.5 cm, length 154.0 cm, depth 90 cm.
