A coffee and tea service for six persons (22 pieces), painted décor by Leopoldine Sturm, Gmundner Keramik, by c. 1933
light-bodied ceramic, beige glazed, black and white painted floral motifs and decoration with stars and stripes; consisting of: a large pot with cover (height 12.7 cm); a small pot with cover (height 10.3 cm); a sugar bowl with cover (height 9.4 cm); a small milk jug (height 4.9 cm); six cups (height 6.2 cm), six saucers (diameter 14.7 cm) and six dessert plates (diameter 17.5 cm); undersides embossed with diverse company signets and model numbers and partly monogrammed in black; partly scuffed and slightly chipped. (MP) Literature: cf. Edenhofer, Markenführer Gmundner Keramik, Schleiss Keramik, p. 42 (initials of the students of the Schleiss School apprentice workshop). Leopoldine Sturm attended the Schleiss school in 1918-22 was and later active at Gmundner Keramik until June 1933.
