IWC Schaffhausen Mark XI
wristwatch for the British Royal Airforce, c. 1948 -- watch case: stainless steel, numbered 6B/346 1842/48, Broad Arrow, interior signed:"JWC", soft iron anti-magnetic shielding, diameter c. 36 mm movement: manual winding, lever movement, numbered 1149449, calibre 89, engraved bridge "Broad Arrow", Breguet overcoil spring dial: black, Arabic numerals, central second -- IWC developed the Mark XI for the British Air Force in 1948. It was used not only by pilots, but also accompanied famous explorers on their expeditions. Before delivery, it was subjected to very strict test criteria. The watch has been partly reworked and is in a good state of preservation.
