c. 1500 - 1520, Mary enthroned, holding the Christ Child on her knee, the child stretching out towards the viewer, probably originally from a group depicting the Adoration of the Magi, carved limewood, hollowed out on the back, minor residual traces of polychrome paint, 36 x 90 cm, age-related damage, (MC)
Provenance:
German private collection. The Madonna has an exquisitely carved face and hair. The style of the folds is comparable to works by Veit Stoß from the period 1500-1520.
