Adolf Loos, a “Knieschwimmer” armchair, variation used for, inter alia, the apartment of Arthur and Leonie Friedmann, Vienna, 1906/07, the house of Leopold Goldmann, Vienna, 1911,
and the Müller Villa, Prague, 1907, cf. F. O. Schmidt, model number 4306, before 1914. The design of the “Kneeswimmer” reclining chair was modelled on the “Easy Chair” by Wilhelm Birch (1898). walnut wood, brown-stained; dark yellow-golden textile covering, both the covering and the upholstery have been replaced; professionally restored; signs of age and use; height 77 cm, length 111 cm, width 75 cm.
