Interesting autographs about the Emperor’s health condition 3 and 2 days before his death on 21 November 1916. The reports were written by Court physician Dr. Joseph Kerzl (1841 - 1919); 1 report was co-signed by the consulted physician Prof. Norbert Ortner (1865 - 1935). Report on 18 November: "Since this morning, despite a constant catarrh, His Majesty’s temperature has risen slightly to 38 (degrees) in the evening. Good cardiac activity. Calm breathing. Despite this, His Majesty devoted the whole day to work and, in addition to the Count and Countess Waldburg, received Prince Montenuovo, the two Adjutants General and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baron Burian, in a one-hour audience. Court physician Dr. Kerzl/Ortner." Report on 19 November: "There has been a slight improvement in His Majesty's condition - the temperature was 36.6 (degrees) in the morning and only rose to 37.7 (degrees) in the evening. Subjective well-being and cardiac activity were constantly good. During the course of the day, His Majesty received Prince Mont., the two Adjutants General, Cab. Dir. v. Schiessl, L(?) and the Minister President Koerber in a one-hour audience."
