Vaso Basilio Ivankovic (Constantinople 1815 - 1898 Trieste), the steam yacht Hertha,

Depiction of the steam yacht Hertha flying the flag of the Imperial and Royal Yacht Squadron before Miramare Castle near Trieste. The owner of the yacht in 1893 was Prince Johann II von und zu Liechtenstein, who would sell it to Archduke Ludwig Salvator in 1894. The latter renamed the yacht "Nixe". The Italian inscription reads: "Yacht Hertha proprietà di Sua Alt.a Serenissima il Principe Giovanni II duca Liechtenstein, Commandante Domoljub Medanich fuori Miramare. 1893". A counterpart depicting the yacht without sails is preserved in the collection of the Prince of Liechtenstein. We are grateful to Dr. Wladimir Aichelburg for his scholarly advice.
