Southeast Europe (Thrace), c. 275 x 210 cm, dated 1854, in slit technique with interlocking, slanted and arched pattern wefts, this prominent style was brought to Thrace by the Ottomans, on sürmey-coloured background a green prayer niche with red mihrab, the prayer field features zoomorphic gazelle or stag abstractions both in the accompanying cartouches and in the main border, wholly complete, some old darned areas.
