A rare covered box mod. 1321, designed by Marianne Brandt - Design

in 1931, for Ruppelwerke, Gotha, two-piece construction made of partly pastose green lacquered metal, three feet made of varnished wood, marked on the underside ‘Ruppel’ with star. Dimensions: height c. 21 cm, diameter c. 20 cm. Signs of age and use, scratches and abrasions, partly with small losses (to the varnish). (MHA)

A rare execution.

This model was the part of the exhibition ‘Inspiriert vom Bauhaus. Gotha erlebt Moderne’ [Inspired by Bauhaus. Gotha experiences modernity] at KunstForum Gotha in 2019. This special exhibition featured outstanding design objects created by Marianne Brandt as head designer at Ruppelwerke in Gotha.
