There are three known versions of this subject by Frans Francken II, all of which are signed and dated. One, of near identical size, is in the Princeton Art Museum (see U. Härting, Frans Francken der Jüngere (1581-1641), Freren 1989, p. 286, no. 206). The other, of much larger scale and dated 1636, is preserved in the Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum, Aachen (see U. Härting, p. 288, no. 207).
