We are grateful to Guendalina Serafinelli for confirming the attribution on the basis of a photograph.
The present painting relates to the composition by Luigi Garzi in the Royal Apartment of the Basilica di Superga, Turin. Two preparatory drawings are known, one in the Ratjen collection, Vaduz and one in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (see F. Grisolia, Luigi Garzi, disegnatore romano: dagli esordi alla maturità (1660-1690), in: F. Grisolia, G. Serafinelli [eds.], Luigi Garzi 1638-1721, pittore romano, Milan 2018, p. 224, figs. 20-21).
