A rare, large, double-sided writing desk, designed by Lajos (Ludwig) Kozma,


Hungary in around 1930, classic, pared-down wood frame construction, walnut and rosewood veneer, brass drawers, each side with 9 lockable drawers, with key, usable on either side and free standing. Dimensions: height c. 70 cm, width c. 180 cm, depth c. 78 cm. In restored condition with signs of age and use, scratches and abrasions, reworked table top, the lock of one middle drawer is damaged. An extremely rare, imposing piece of furniture with exceptional appearance and harmonious proportions.

Kozma Lajos’ personal preparatory sketches are preserved in the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest under the inventory number KRTF 1898.
