A Rare Fortepiano,
manufactured by WILHELM BACHMANN (1788-1856) in Vienna c. 1840, 6 3/4 octaves, Viennese action, veneered and polished with Hungarian manna ash, executed with moulded flame strips, hardwood or softwood body on finely turned legs with brass casters, lyre-like bridge with 2 pedals, keyboard space in rosewood, with floral brass and mother-of-pearl marquetry, longitudinal stringing, soundboard with iron hitch pin plate, which is unusual for that time, ivory keyboard, c. 90 x 240 x 134 cm, restored condition: mechanism and soundboard original, stringing largely original, playable condition without guarantee of sound quality.
